Affogato All Year

Affogato (/ˌɑːfəˈɡɑːtoʊ, ˌæf-/), known in full in Italian as (gelato) affogato al caffè[1] ('(ice cream) drowned in coffee'), is an Italian dessert comprising a scoop of plain milk-flavored (fior di latte) or vanilla gelato or ice cream topped with hot espresso.

Affogato at Il Viale is a staple. We offer the traditional vanilla, along with decadent chocolate, and refreshing raspberry for our vegan customers. Though it may seem like a dessert, we treat affogato more as a drink, ready to sip any time of day. Dessert all day, shall we say.

A spoonful of cold ice cream and hot Camber espresso is delightful, and better yet, shared with a friend. Treat yourself today!
